A typical bathroom, roughly day by day

Day 1 — Strip out. The old suite, tiles and any waste come out, and the room is prepped.

Days 2–3 — First fix. Any pipework and wiring is moved or renewed while the walls are open.

Days 3–5 — Boarding and tiling. Walls and floor are made good, waterproofed where needed, then tiled.

Days 5–7 — Second fix. The suite, shower, basin and toilet go in and get connected.

Final day — Finishing and testing. Sealing, silicone, a full test, and the room left clean and tidy.
